Purdue Boilermakers Chalkware Coin Bank 1956
This listing is for a Purdue Boilermaker chalkware bank. He was made in 1956, is part of the Collegiate chalkware bank set and stands over 8 inches tall. He looks brand new, displays very nicely and he’s HUGE! I struggled to get all of him into one picture. Even his coin slot in the back is mint. They are usually chipped and cracked from coins getting put in there. So I’ve now had three of the Purdue and he’s by far my favorite of all the chalkware banks. I originally thought them to be repainted, but only the yellow color? But if you know anything about a black light, then you know that yellows show up completely different then any other color. So now, in reflecting, I think perhaps I was wrong, and that none of them have been repainted yellow. And that would make much more sense, cause these guys weren’t worth much until fairly recently, so why would they have spent time and money on repainting them. And he’s got a brand new rubber stopper on the bottom, so you can actually use him if you so desire. I guarantee him to be in mint condition and probably 100% original. NodderKing.com and CentralPaNodders.com appreciate your interest and hope that you make us part of your regular daily stops as we are constantly adding new and exciting pieces.
